I think you can bet for value on the end. Hard to put him on a 5, hard to put him on QQ+ too, though these aren't impossible. I think he can call you with a lesser PP easily, TT, 99, 88, less likely the lower you get, but there are enough possibilities IMO.
Of course, if you have reason to believe he might try a bluff if checked to, then check calling could be better
