Assuming you're talking about the reading comprehension section, skimming is incorrect. Read looking for the main point, and to identify the logical structure/organization of the passage. They are correct that memorizing every detail isn't important- unless those details are vital to the logical structure. But don't go into the questions without knowing what the main point is. 90% of the time there is at least one question on it.

There are forums for LSAT studiers btw.

One thing that helps for some people is to read the first sentence of each paragraph, and then read the passage. That way you already pretty much know the main point / structure, and will just be filling in the details.
