[/ QUOTE ] is it possible to be neither company A nor company B's fault? Company B has records of taking my pants, cleaning them, and dropping them back so i don't even feel like i want to sue them, but i don't know who legally is responsible.

I just feel like if you take A to court, the judge might not think there's enough evidence to prove it wasn't B, and if you take B to court the judge might not think there's enough evidence to prove it's not A.

Just seems like you're taking a shot in the dark hoping to get lucky.
