I recommend King Yaos book alot especially if you lack the basics. Handicapping is not about picking Winners but finding valuable situations. If you are going for the approach you described in your post concentrating on the 4 best teams in eredivisie you are most likely going to lose in the longrun because these lines will be tough to beat most of the time.

The line startet -0.25 -0.5 @ -110 for Mallorca. Before the bookies put up their line try to make your own line with the information you have and see if you can find an advantage .
