Reason is for different than you may think.
It's only half a blind to complete, but what makes it an easy fold is you are in the small blind, which is the worst position, plus your hand will only ever get you into trouble after the flop.
It's extremely difficult to ever make the nuts here, more to the point, also to have someone else make a strong hand that is worse than yours.
You fold because when you are ahead after the flop, you are rarely getting paid off as you can never be sure you are ahead with your hand, plus you're out of position, so you will make more mistakes and your opponents will make less mistakes.
