Divide the pot in half. Any extra chip goes in the high half.

Pay the high player(s). If splitting the high half results in an extra chip the player with the worst (earlier) position gets the extra chip. Pay the low player(s) in the same manner.

I've occasionally seen casinos use suits as opposed to position when deciding who gets the extra chip. This is a bad idea IMHO.

If there are side pots treat each one individually. At no point lump side pots and the main pot together as it might affect the number of chips a player should receive.
