What about checking the flop? To some degree, I'm trying to employ into my game the NLHTP book's theory that, OOP, you should often check top pair to keep the pot small, usually float calling if villian bets, and be disciplined enough to fold the turn if a scare card comes and villian bets big (or fold regardless of what card comes depending on your read of villian).

If you can do this then I'd think that raising KQs UTG is ok?
