Default Gay vs. Airplane debate

My girlfriend and I have just had a strange little argument. She made the comparison of "being disguisted / very turned off" by homosexual acts, and the prospect of participating in such acts, with being afraid to fly on airplanes. Basically, she says they are both irrational fears.

However, I think sexual orientation is the deciding factor here, and a certain "repulsion" for homosexual activities (assuming you're heterosexual of course, otherwise vice versa) is neither rational nor irrational (but rather standard nonetheless).

I would posit that such tendancies of sexual orientation are non-rational, much like disliking a particular kind of food, or preferring the color red to the color blue.
