A and B are definitely unethical (of course not illegal) the 'i didn't realize you were a great player until after i posted' is not a legitimate excuse, its just a rationalization that one might fall back on in order to hit and run in a necessarily +EV manner.
even if you were playing against of the god of HU gods you can play 1 MORE HAND and make everything even before splitting. 2 hands HU against your superior isn't going to crush you.
