Re: Fear of dying - Religious vs non-religious people
I am not nor have I ever been religious, so I can only give my perspective. I am in no way scared of dying, I am scared of dying a death that is long and painful. I think one reason why religious people would be more scared of death is that they feel a certain amount of "pressure" to act in accordance with what they feel will get them to heaven, which is probably very hard since it is not something that is measurable. "Have I lived a good enough life to go to heaven?" That is something I have never worried about.
