Gettting about 2:1, I don't think it's an easy fold. Villain may be confused by your line, but if he has 7x, he still may like his hand a lot. It's also possible he caught a straight with his 98. And the ThXh hand you mention is also entirely possible.

Annoyingly, a whiffed turn checkraise (or a check-call continuation of the slowplay) with a boat seems like the most likely holding once Villain 3-bets all-in on the river, but I would take my chances.

Meanwhile, the original raise seems fine to me. Villain won't have a better hand very often, and I think you'll get your share of curiosity calls. Maybe it's not that hard to figure out what probably happened when you raise the river -- and of course Villain also has to worry about a sandbagged monster in a game as trappy as micro NL -- but I think a lot of players are going to be confused by your line.
