Default Re: Stud high - rolled Fives multiway

[ QUOTE ]
I'm posting this hand more to assess my thought process rather than the specifics in this particular instance.

My plan from the beginning was to not raise until 5th, unless one or more boards got scary. Or if checked to me on 4th I would bet to ensure at least one bet goes in.

Since the bettor and Seat 8 both caught good cards, I decided to raise in order to try and at least get rid of Seat 8 in case he's on a FD.

If the pot is 4-handed on 4th almost regardless of what their boards are, would it be correct to slowplay it until 5th? Or am I generally better off raising earlier for value and/or thin the field?

[/ QUOTE ] If it's the type of game where a king is going to flat call an Ace's 3rd st raise then I like repopping 3rd and hammering away - trying to build a monster pot. I think that in the long-term, in the loose lower stakes games, significantly more chips are won playing these fast from the get-go.
