i think people overestimate how much diving is actually going on. when youre running full speed and someone just touches your foot it is pretty easy to go down. A rewatch in slow motion usually doesnt give one an appreciation for this. but yeah, in the box it is a problem. c. ronaldo's dive earlier this year being a good example. I just think players like messi get called a diver a lot when they are running full speed and drawing contact, which to me isnt really a dive. There are many other players in this same boat. I guess if a player is a "good" enough actor it is hard to tell the difference between a dive and a legitimate foul.
