I played live 3/5 NL last night.
Live poker has its advantages. For one thing, players there hand you money like it’s Christmas. Also, you can drink for free at most casinos.
But it also has its drawbacks.
The wait list can last forever. You play 30 hands an hour if you’re lucky. When you’re getting cold-decked, the terrible minraising and slowplaying of the other players trying to give away their money is enough to put you on severe tilt. And the inane table talk either justifying certain plays or trying to show off poker knowledge (lol) is horribly painful.
Also my casino makes you pay for drinks.
But that wasn’t enough last night.
OH NO.
One of you shitbags must have infected the game, because from the moment I was on the wait list, the 5/10 game behind me would erupt every five minutes with “I HAVE topTOP” “NICE topTOP” “I PUT YOU ON topTOP”
And after every single outburst of “topTOP” the rest of the table would join in with “TOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOPTOP”
And then I got the 2 seat right next to the 5/10 game so I got "topTOP" in my ear the entire. [censored]. night.
I ended up having to leave early (leaving tons of equity on the table) because I was about to snap a neck or two.
Moral of the story: Bring a [censored] iPod when you play live.
