Default Re: How much to buy-in for

[ QUOTE ]
I see many of us buying in for at least 20BB, some buy-in for 25BB or between 30-40BB (is this necessary at the micro-limits?). So at what point am I reloading, when I get below 16BB? At the $0.10/$0.25 table I play at, I typically buy-in for $5.00 (20BB). Should I be buying in for $6.00 and if I drop below $4.00 (16BB) reload back to $6.00? Most of the donks I play against come to the table with $2.00 or $3.00.

Ideally you'd never start a hand below $4. Sometimes you get caught rebuying slow, but that should be your goal. As Andy says this is especially important in Stud/8, because if you get a chance to whipsaw, you want to exploit it to the max.

I typically buy in for 50BB anywhere below 10/20 and 25-30BB above. That high so many people are buying in for 20 or less that 50 looks really out of place. It's pretty common to buy in for 30BB and cover the table.
