In the Nvidia driver is an option for "Full Screen Video Device" - set this to "Disabled"
On my work computer now, I find it in "Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> GeForce XYZ (a panel pops out left of settings window) -> Full Screen Video".
Location may vary with newer cards / drivers, setting will be in there somewhere.
