Raising here is fine. Everybody will fold to the BB who will either fold and be all-in on the SB next hand, or he'll call with a range of hands you beat often enough to make the play make sense. There's absolutely no logic in giving him a walk in this situation.
If the table gives him a walk and folds to him on the next hand, he'll shove for $3500 and you'll have to call in the BB with any 2 cards getting 3.67:1.
Of those two situations (raising this hand or calling a raise blind in the next), which one is most likely to get you the seat?
Don't listen to the whiners.
BTW: When you raise this hand, if somebody else shoves, you do know to fold, right? Nobody should, but there are idiots out there, you know.
