Default Trop Pink Chip this past weekend

Played 3 sessions in the Pink chip game this Saturday & Sunday. Cliff notes: up a bit each session about 740 total. Tables ran from tight regulars to wild and wooley.

1st session - from about 12:301 Pm to 6:30Pm. Seated right away in the 1 seat, the game had been going only a down and 1/2 when I arrived. There was a couple of empty seats which were filled in short order. At least four of the people were older regulars. Its amazing even thought I only get down there every few months, how often you recognize people.

The afternoon session played fairly tight. I played ABC poker and yo yo'ed up and down, managing to cash out up a rack. The game was fed steadily by a must a move game that started at about 2 o'clock. No memorable hands from this 1st session. There was one yong dutch guy guy that came over with about 2 racks from the must move. He played fairly tight, and I don't remember him in any hands before I left for dinner.

After eating a nice dinner at wellingtons, I returned at about eight o'clock. The dutch guy now had a collection of chips that was spread far and wide. No one else was left from the earlier session. The must move had broken, and I was seated at the main game after about a half hour in seat 5. There was on Laggtard regular table captain raising most pots preflop. He would take down many pots, would bleed chips, suck out, and occasionally had good cards... I never knew what he had, and tightened up, and mostly became a calling station. I called him down a few times with one pair two pair, and he lost with air. He did catch me once when I caught trip queens and he slowed rolled me witht a boat. Whatever. The laggtard mostly bled chips. For some reason he moved two to my right (he had been in the 9 seat and me in the five. AFter that I had a much easier time. Early with him acting afterme, I could only go in with hands knowing he was going to pound me. With him acting before me, I could be looser / more aggressive when he folded pf. And when he was in, I could wait for premium hands. I managed to catch him a couple of times and cashed out up two racks at about 2:30am. Before I cashed out, the dutch boy cashed out with 6 full racks, a lady to my right that caught the laggtard a few times cashed out up 3 racks in about two hours. Some others left happy as well. The game became even more aggressive when another lag (although with manners) joined in the 10 seat. Overall except for some of the berrating, it was a very entertaining table.

Sunday Morning, we opened a Pink chip table at 10:30am. Which stayed mostly full unll until I left at 12:30 to head home. Took down the 1st two nice pots, so I started up. slowly gave most of it back when people played back at me and I didn't catch. Sucked out big time on the following hand:

Young asian in seat one had been fairly aggressive. I overcalled pf with 4c5c I don't remember if it was raised pf but we were 5 to the flop. Flop came 5 8 10 rainbow with one club out there. Asian opens, I don't read him strong and raise hoping if I can catch two pair I could be good, and that I might buy the button or and a free card on the turn (or even take it down with a bet). One caller behind me, and then tight button raises, so much for that plan. Now I figure he may have an overpair, or a straight draw (hoping no set, or I am just about drawing dead). But with so much in the pot now, I figure I have odds to call the small bet.

Jc comes out on the turn, making straight looking good for draws, but it put 4 clubs on the board. checked to the button, he bets & I am the only caller ( I think I was getting about 7or8:1). Qc comes out on the river. Now even big slick made a straight. I lead out. he tanks. calls & goes ballistic when I show my flush. I don't thnk he cared so much about the flush, except for the fact that I raised with such crap on the flop. Hey, I got lucky, but I did enjoy the steam show. ANy way cashed out up less than a rack, but fun.

FYI - many folks were complaining about the new management at the Trop which was sold last year. Many regulars let go (Hosts, waiters etc.), filthy bathrooms, not as good comps. I didn't enjoy wellington's as much as I had in the past, but I am not sure that was from the changes. Either way, most people are not excited about the changes at the trop.
