Clark - what about the plans to create an overflow airport 30 mins away from the city. This sounds like a doomed strategy to me - wasted resources when the average traveler will avoid the longer trip without effective transportation, whats your opinion?

They will build it, it's a matter of satisfying the environmentalists.

They won't be moving commuters there. What they will do is move all the non-commuter flights there. So UPS, FedEx, etc will all move south, freeing up gates for tourists.

But, they are already behind where they need to be in order to avoid peaking out McCarron's capacity, and they fall further behind each day. The Review-Journal has good articles on the topic from time to time.
