Default Solution to Limit Tournament Crapshoot Structure- Comments Appreciated

In Todays day 2 start of the stud hi-low as has all the limit events so far; the average chip count had 9 big bets meaning the player could play one maybe two hands to completion. I do not recall any other year at the world series where in every limit tourney on day 2 the average player would have less than 10 big bets. Here is a simple solution. The WSOP clock lists the total number of players and average chip stack and level of betting. For example in todays stud hi low the average chip count was about 7,000 and we were playing 400 800 to start day 2. My suggestion would be as follows; any time the average chip stack has less than a certain number ( somewhere between 10 and 15) of big bets at the beginning of a new round in a limit tournament, The structure from the prior round would be extended for 1 more round. In this case; since we reached the 400 800 level with an average chip count of only 7,000 we would continue the 300 600 struture for an additional hour. By the next hour the structure will have corrected itself somewhat and we would contue to 400 800 if the average chip stack had more than the determined number of big bets. If the structure is set up correctly and players always have at least 15 or so big bets; then no adjustments would need to be made and the tournament would continue as scheduled. The only way a round would be repeated is if the structure gets out of line and the average stack has less than a predetermined number of big bets.

This seems to be a reasonable way to ensure that players will not be forced to play 10 to 12 hours only to have risk their whole tournament on the play of one hand in day 2.
