BB checks, Hero?
Should I be checking down looking for a cheap showdown?

Interesting hand. Do you check to induce a bluff now that you have showdown value? Or do you bet to protect your AK against a 4th diamond, 2nd 9 or straight card from coming. Of course, he may already have AK beat, or he may be slowplaying a turned flush or straight on a paired board.
If it were me, I probably would have checked the flop. since many would expect you to slowplay a Ten in position, you don't really define your hand with a check.
Then I would have bet the king on the turn.
As played, I think you have to fire again to protect against 7d7x from catching his 11 outer. If this is a tricky player capable of a check-raise bluff representing the board or check-raise semi-bluff on the turn, then you may be forced to a decision.
