Default Re: Why are Las Vegas cabbies so weird about tips?

[ QUOTE ]
If you guys are so bothered giving another dollar or two to someone driving you around, perhaps you should rent a car or, you know, not leave the house. Seriously, you are bitching about a couple of bucks. If the budget is stretched so thin that you can't afford this, perhaps you should spend less time on vacation and more time at work. Or school.

Apparently for some of you that live in Freewayville, having someone "drive you around" is a novel experience, but for those of us that live in major urban centers it's literally an everyday activity.

When you buy a book from the family-run used book store down the street, do you pay more than the price listed on the book jacket? Do you tip the guy at 7-Eleven a buck when you buy a Slurpee? Do you send the utility company a little something extra?

If you really want to do something good for the world, then figure out how much you increase your carbon footprint by taking cabs instead of public transit and donate a proportionate amount to an environmental charity.
