Quick thought: you might want to alternate doing this and not doing this on a (roughly) weekly basis. I think the idea is to keep your opponents thinking about the surface of what you're doing, and novelty goes a long way toward that. A while ago Matt Maroon wrote that his favorite kind of opponent is a bad one trying to play well; that resonated with me. My results tend to be best when my opponents are thinking in a vague way about strategy but not about any particular useful strategic concepts.
