I own guns and have a license to carry as well. I can understand and appreciate your concerns and arguments too.

I honestly think you would get a better debate by at least acting like an adult about it though.

Let's see if we can start now. My concern about gun control is honestly the fact that it would be pretty difficult to get the villans to hand theirs over. How do you suggest the government goes about doing that? I, like many here, have heard so many people talk about how the government would have to "take the gun from their dead hands" but I think those people could be dealt with. I just have a real hard time thinking a murderer or armed robber would just hand it over.

I wouldn't be opposed to tighter controls over guns though. It's so easy to just buy one at a gun show or other places w/o any checks at all.

Very good post and I am sorry to call people Rednecks, it's generalising and pretty prejudiged.

I think it is true that it is impossible to get all the (illegal) guns out of the streets. But they are there beacause of the free market wich there is right now. And only stopping selling firearms probably is going to make things only worse, what the main problem is is poverty.
Altough the U.S. is the richest country in the world, the amount of people who are living under the povertyline says that the U.S. is in fact a third world country. This would be a bit stupid to say because of the average income. So what probably a better idea is to start with taking a lot of those billions of $ that are used in Defence. If you took that money and invest it in Jobs, Healthcare and Scholing there will be a decent general income and so much less crime. When the U.S. is there you could start thinking about making it illegal to carry a firearm on the streets.

And on me being not a U.S. Citizen, I am still free to say what my opinion is, not? isn't that like the first Amendment? If you have anything to critisize about my country our the EU, feel free, but try to come with facts not only opinions. And yes there is also alot wrong with the Netherlands. For instance the Poker Laws and the monopoly that the state has for being the only one to offer Casino Games (Poker Included)
