i do the right thing...only because it's hard to get away with this...

[/ QUOTE ]

Get away with what? Once it's signed on the back, it's payable to whoever is in possession of it. It's not a whole lot different than finding cash on the street, except you know in this case who lost it.

[/ QUOTE ]
This is correct. It's yours if you want it. But do the right thing...

[/ QUOTE ]

The person who lost it can still come after u for the funds. Even if it can't be proven criminally then it would easy to prove in a civil court. UNless it has been signed over to u by the peron the check is made out to then it is still not yours. U can get it cashed no problem but u can still be liable for it.

You're wrong, but okay.

No one has a number at which they'd cash the damn thing?

[/ QUOTE ]

Explain to me how I'm wrong? I would like to know. Seriously.

Might I suggest some light reading: http://www.amazon.com/Modern-Commercial-...4779&sr=8-1

I already have that. I have read up on them myself. But as u probablly know in a civil court it doesn't really matter. I can sue u if u called me stupid. Also, just because u find cash on the street doesn't make it yours. Yes u have it at that time, but if the person loking for it comes back and claims it, it is still his. The only claim u have is you found it. Legally speaking, or morally speaking it isn't yours. Legally speaking no one would do anything to u, but civilly they can still and if it was me would come after u for the money.

A+ would forward to friends again
