At the beginning of Saving Private Ryan, we see the old man walking through the cemetery at Normandy, then the camera pushes in tight on his face, then there's a dissolve or fade to Tom Hanks' face, giving the impression that it is the Hanks character at the cemetery, when in reality, it's Ryan.
