Default Re: What should the dealer do? What would you want them to do?

2 and 1 are moot. YOU'RE NOT ON TV, WE DON'T NEED TO ADD DRAMATIC PAUSES BETWEEN CARDS.

I pushed into a $1-2 game last night. On the hand before I sat down, two people got all-in on the flop. Dealer quickly put out the last two cards, read the hands, and pushed the pot to the winner.

After that dealer left, while everyone discussed the hand that was just concluded, the player who lost the pot expressed displeasure over the way the dealer "rushed" through the hand. "He started dealing the rest of the cards before we even got a chance to turn our hands up!" The winner of the pot agreed with her that yes, this was a strange thing for a dealer to do.

The voice inside my head was screaming, "You're not on tv!!!"

Questions for OP:

1. What did the dealer do?

2. What did you think he was supposed to do? And what's wrong with the way he did it?
