A++ for trying to take the shot when you did. This puts you ahead of the game. It is small consolation, but lots of guys don't have the guts at this spot - which sounded perfect to me.
Go find another one.
I don't want to complicate it, but next time you try a shot, try and get some extended (not too long, a few seconds) eye contact in before you take it. You can tell if she's digging you from this.
