Default Re: Viva La Ninja Bumper

BTW, I can see how it will show up in your email who responded, but what I want to know is how your reply was done such that it quoted the ninjabumper..do you have to get there before they delete the post?

I'm not certain that there *was* a ninja bump of that thread.

The other poster claims that it was on the top of the list when he replied to it - that he didn't bump it. However, if that was the case, I should've received a copy of the post by the ninja bumper, I think.

The text of any reply to a thread I have sent to me as a favourite, and presumably that should trigger as soon as the post is made... regardless of whether it is subsequently deleted.

I'm not sure how this forum software works but I'm pretty sure that on some other forums, once you've been emailed that there's a new post, it won't email you again about other new posts until after you've viewed the thread. IE if two people post in immediate succession, you only get one email. If the first was a ninja-bumper, you would never see their post, and assume the second bumped the thread.

It emails you the full text of all replies made to a thread set as a "favourite." Most obviously, I set the [censored] thread of the STT forum as a favourite at the start of the month, and thus can just browse through the rubbish people post at my own leisure. It is particularly useful since my email has better mobile support than the boards natively.

Since I use gmail (via Google Apps for Your Domain), the posts are all neatly threaded, and only display new, unread posts perfectly.
