Default Re: why do U have to MINIMUM raise preflop????

[ QUOTE ]
I do this alot.

The reason is simple. I am not there to steal blinds or play right. I notice that there is no better way to put your typical internet nit off his game more than turn his 1/2 game into a 2/4. Nothing.

Occasionally, I will be re-raised by a player who has a big hand. That's good. I fold.

Very rarely, one of the nits at the table turns out not to be a nit and starts to play back. That's bad. I will either leave the table or straighten up my act, depending on the lineup.

In the meantime, I'm always looking for the player who has an overreaction to this. He is the guy who is going to pay me, eventually, because he's offended by my supposedly horrible play. Its far more common than the right reaction, which is to 3-bet (or more) me when they have a good but not great holding. Of course, my AA and KK raise look a lot like my J9s or 78s raise as well.

Its sounds like you may be suffering from "flopitis," the irrational need to see cheap flops with marginal holdings.

WHY did U have to post this, dangit???? Now we're going to have to change our exploit-the-nits strategy!
