Some more ATM advice: I find my ePassporte debit card to be much better than my US one. epass gives me a decent exchange rate and there are no fees either from them or at the ATM. This means I can take out 2 or 3k baht as needed instead of walking around with several months' salary for most people in my pocket.

Don't forget to throw in the e-pass warning though about month long account lockouts for foreign withdrawals.
