Sorry about your knee, but just wanted to reiterate that Dewey Beach is awesome and exactly like you described. Every weekend over the summer it's essentially a college spring break atmosphere for mid 20's people.

If I had to pick a place to give myself a drunken injury I would no doubt pick Dewey.
