MP3 is probably only betting here because he is checked to. You could easily have 12 outs here and maybe even 15. You are directly getting 4.5-1 on the call, and given 12 outs, you don't need nearly that much, which should make up for them times that you improve to a 2nd best hand. You need to improve to a winner ~18% of the time to make the call here given the pot odds.
