Default Re: do you have to pay a fee to play in B&M poker rooms?

[ QUOTE ]
The riverboat casinos in Indiana used to charge something like $3 or $5 or something just to get on the boat.
That requirement is gone though as are the specified boarding times (you are allowed to enter whenever you want without having to wait for the 'boarding time').

No idea how many other places charge admission just to enter the place.
But obviously almost all casino poker does not come with an admission fee.
They make enough off the rake they take out of each pot (or the half-hour time-charge for sitting at the table as it works at some places).

I'm not sure about Indiana regulations, but the state of Missouri charges the casinos a small tax ($2-$3) per visitor. Missouri boats initially tried to pass that "admission fee" on to their customers, but competition made the attempt fail. Now the boats just absorb that tax as part of the cost of business.

But getting back to the OP... I've never seen a specific fee to enter a poker room. Just the blinds and the rake once you join a game.
