You guys are making more out of this than there is. There are two references to 'behind' that come up in teh poker

"Playing Behind" as our OP heard on HSP means a player has more money in play than he has in chips/cash in front of him. It is used to prevent slowing the game down when a player has run out of chips/money and is waiting for more to be delivered.

"How much do you have behind" is another term we hear that is basically asking a player for a chip count. Player A bets $10 Player B asks how much do you have behind (how much do I need to raise to put you all in).
