Actually, it isn't THAT far off. It's an artifical "2nd largest stack" in a sense.

I agree the games are different, but not hugely different from some of the small min/max buy-in range NL games you see (at least initially, before the stacks start growing exponentially).

In fact, a capped buy-in game really protects the big stacks much more than an unlimited game... as you know already. One could say that a capped pot game levels the playing field, as far as taking away the strength of a large bankroll.

As to which is "better", I can't speak to.
