The whole premise behind "The Price is Right" is being able to accurately gauge the retail price of items.
The better you are at being able to know the retail price of something, the better you can play most of the games.
One caveat to alot of the bidding games is, you want to get as close to the actual price, without going OVER.
Becaue in real life if you were a shrewd bidder at an auction and wanted the item, you would still never bid OVER the actual value of the item.
That's why you see people bidding $1 sometimes.
As in poker position is important, the last bidder has a huge advantage.
