This bothers me more than the sushi story. Now, if I -ask- for some drink and you say, "try this instead," that I can understand. But if the bartender just offers me to try a drink and then charges me, that's just sketchy.
I've had bartenders say "try this" often, and never paid anything for those shots/drinks.
