What casino has that awful rule (as stated)? If you are talking about the 'winner' asking to see a mucked hand, OK. But if you say any player with a live hand at showdown asking to see a mucked hand makes it live, then it is a horrible rule.

You are right - to clarify - if the *winner* of the pot asks to see any mucked hands from players - those hands are still considered to be "live" hands.
