hi,

i am going to replace my old fx 5200 geforce graphicscard with a xfx 7900 gs.
so far i have been advised to uninstall my old graphics drivers and install the standard vga driver (i use win xp home)
when trying to update my driver and looking for the standard vga driver,however,i cant find it in the optional driver list.there are only nvidia and asus drivers there(motherboard: asus p4pe-x/te).
how would you guys go on to install my new graphicscard.
i tend to start up in vga mode,uninstall old drivers,shut down.then put in the new card and start up in vga mode again and then install the new drivers.should this work this way???
