I would agree with the sentiment that TDS has gone way down hill over the past couple of years. I'd say 2000-2003 were probably its peak years. I think a lot of it has to do with their strong correspondants leaving the show. None of the new correspondants have really stepped up. Some of them have their moments but they never really reach the genius of Colbert, Corell, and Corrdry. These guys pretty much carried the show and stewart was the center of it all with the news commentary.
However, I never really got into the Colbert Report. I find its kind of a one joke show. Its just the same style of satire over and over again. Since I know he's faking it I find the joke get tiresome. The real o'reily if far more hilarious.
