Fold flop? Maybe if this were pot limit... as it is, what hands are you assigning opponents that make you think hero has equity small enough to fold instead of putting one more SB into the pot? It's not like we have really tough decisions on later streets: fold to a bet if board pairs, fold to a bet if spade flush comes. So folding to avoid mistakes (and not just purely for equity reasons) doesn't seem to apply either...
