I recently had the same grip epiphany that you guys are talking about..weakening the right hand and squeezing that thumb into the forefinger. It is doing amazing things for my ability to get the club started on the right plane, and thus is dramatically improving consistency.

I reccomend Ben Hogan's Five Fundamentals. I have been playing golf for 10 years and his is the first explanation of how to grip the club that has really made sense to me. That is probably more of a testament to my thick-headnedness...but it doesn't change the fact that Hogan does a great job of breaking down all the important pieces.
