I've made about 10 final tables in the last three weeks, so perhaps I can be of some service.

When we get down to 4-6 handed, I usually offer a chop.

Regardless of chip position, I say "I will take [insert amount of money just slightly less than first place money] and you guys can play for the rest."

They usually decline, but they usually regret it.

With a 4 to 1 chip disadvantage the 109r three weeks ago, I offered to take 20k HU when first was 21,870. My HU opponent LAUGHED at me! How rude! Either way, I went on to show him the sick aejones skillz and prevailed with A4 > AT, then T7o > KJo, and finally, TT > Q5o. This guy cost himself $1,870.

To some, that is a lot of money.
