Targeted "sniping" of politicians would occur. It would make politicians far more centrist than before, because political groups would mobilize to quickly *eliminate* opposing senators. So I suppose you'd have to endow the seats for fairly long term limits, like four years. At the same time, these centrist politicans would be unable to take much risk, which is a good thing. It seems like it would be deeply unappealing to most at the same time.
