Default Re: Bostonians.....what to do in Boston?

OP, narrow it down for us. What are you looking for? Beer (young crowd, old crowd, hole in the wall?), food, live music, tourism stuff, history, etc etc?

Pretty much you can slap a few days togheter with combination of Faneuil Hall, a few freedom trail sites, a museum or two then a few bars at night. DON'T waste time with tourist traps like Cheers or Plymouth Plantation.

I do like the history stuff so I will probably walk parts of Freedom Trail. I also love beer, not that bud light [censored].

I figured I would do a lot of walking around Back Bay and around the Freedom Trail area. From what I gather these two areas will cover everything I am looking for.

Thanks for the tips on avoiding tourist traps. I hate flocking around with other tourist. If there are any other money pits I should avoid please let me know.

Is there anything south of the Pike I should be interested in?
