When your choices are Mexicans or guys with no standards, i think that counts as having it rough.
You're right, though, in that it's not an apt comparison, in a number of ways. In addition to what you said about it being different categories of desirability, if an overweight woman wants a guy who won't date fat chicks, she can do a lot more to change her appearance than a short guy can.
