Tell him that he's welcome to open-muck his hand?

I mean, I understand why it would be considered courteous just to table a hand that is likely a winner and avoid annoying people, but you're either giving up your right to see his bluff (if he's telling the truth) or giving up your right to muck a second-best hand (if he's lying). Maybe I'm just paranoid/a nit.
