Once, I lost all my money at the casino, and had no way of getting home (because I came on the bus), so I decided to hitchhike home on the highway after dark during winter. Eventually the cops picked me up and I spent the night at a homeless shelter (despite having an apartment an hour away, I just had no money and no way to get home). In the morning my sister bought me a bus ticket, but I had to go to a church to call her because you can't call collect to a cell phone.
