On a cliff note, on my journey to improve my dating skills I found the greatest asset is having friends that have awesome skills with women. Just seeing what works, what doesn't. How women respond to them and why. Mimic their clothing style, facial expression, body language and manner of speech.
I find I started hanging out with the geekier friends less and less because they were bringing me down.

If you have both of these, very little skill is needed to get laid.
